The Vampire Diaries’ Nina Dobrev has joined Summit Entertainment’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s popular novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, and most recently, Mae Whitman have all joined the cast of this upcoming potential franchise starter, which looks at the intimate account of a young girl named Charlie who must navigate the harsh halls of high school life. Nina Dobrev will be playing Candace, which was one of the more sought after roles in the film.
Stephen Chbosky will direct from his own adapted screenplay. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is expected to shoot later this year.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Mae Whitman, Paul Rudd, Nina Dobrev. The film is directed by Stephen Chbosky.
