Below is a brand new cast interview of Percy Jackson live in Athens, Greece. It seems that Logan will be attending the premiere of ‘Percy Jackson’ in Greece later this week.

Last Monday I got to interview the main cast members of PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF about their upcoming movie. I was lucky enough to sit down with Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson), Brandon T. Jackson (Grover Underwood), Alexandra Daddario (Annabeth Chase), and Jake Abel (Luke Castallen). I have to say, this cast has wonderful chemistry with each other. You can see it in the movie, but you can really see it in real life. They were all wonderful and are extremely talented actors.

The interview was conducted with myself and John P. Meyer of Pegasus News. You can check out the highlights from the interview and some thoughts on footage they showed us after the jump!

We got to see about twenty minutes from the movie – it looks really good. The only thing I wasn’t crazy about was Uma Thurman’s performance as Medusa. She looked amazing in the role, but it felt a little Poison Ivy(ish). However, that is such a small part of the whole scope of the film, and the rest looks incredible.

GATW: What really sets this film apart from movies people might consider similar, like CHRONICLES OF NARNIA or HARRY POTTER?

Lerman: Well, it takes place in modern day. I guess that’s the main difference. Aside from that, it touches the base of a lot of problems that teenagers are having nowadays and kind of teaches you how to deal with it. • Read full story »

When Logan Lerman, Brandon T. Jackson, Alexandra Daddario, and Jake Abel paid a visit to the Hot Topic store in Frisco’s Stonebriar Mall last Sunday, more than 500 people (mostly teenagers, natch) showed up to get a look at and an autograph from these bright young stars of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, which opens on President’s Day (February 12).

They hung around in North Texas through Monday to trumpet the virtues of their new movie to local media reps. We met with the talented group in a richly-appointed suite at the Stoneleigh Hotel in Dallas’ Uptown district. (Did you know that the Stoneleigh is supposed to be haunted? I hope they didn’t lose the ghosts during the recent remodel.)

Logan Lerman, Brandon T Jackson and Alexandra Daddario showed up at the LA premiere of 20th Century Fox’s ‘Avatar’ to talk about their upcoming action movie, ‘Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.’ [Watch The Video Here]Rebecca Murray from About.com Hollywood Movies at the LA Premiere of 20th Century Fox’s Avatar.

Brandon T Jackson, Logan Lerman and Alexandra Daddario from Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

A lot of people are really excited about this Percy Jackson movie. Tell me all about it.

Logan Lerman: “It’s just the most bad-ass film ever made. No, no, no. That’s hyping it up.”

Alexandra Daddario: “It’s a really fun, awesome movie.”

Brandon T Jackson: “We’re really excited because we’re bringing in Greek mythology…”

Logan Lerman: “…to the modern day.”

Brandon T Jackson: “And vampires are cool, you know, but right now it’s about Greek mythology. The son of Poseidon, he’s a demigod that lives in New York City and he’s a teenage demigod. I’m his protector. I’m a satyr.”

Logan Lerman: “It’s a modern-day Hercules story. It’s a lot of fun, you know? I’ve got to battle Medusa, the Hydra, and all those things.”

So is there a lot of green screen?

Logan Lerman: “Yeah. I mean, you know we did pretty much all of our stunts – all of us together. But most of it was green screen though, but any time you see us doing anything, we’re really there. It’s not like they’re animating us in or anything like that. We’re really doing everything. It’s really crazy. So, we just worked our asses off. See the film.”

Did you do a lot of stunts?

Alexandra Daddario: “I did a lot of stunts. I get to play this really bad-ass chick and kick ass.”

Logan Lerman: “She’s so cool in it. She really is. So is Brandon. Brandon kicks ass in it too.”

Brandon T Jackson: “I try to kick some ass.”

Logan Lerman: “They do.”

Alexandra Daddario: “We’re all pretty bad-ass. I got into great shape during this movie.”

Brandon T Jackson: “The thing about this movie is that everybody can see it, too. Yes, parents, teenagers, kids…everybody can love it. It’s not like one of those movies…”

Logan Lerman: “We made it for everyone.”

Brandon T Jackson: “It’s not like one of those movies you sit back and go, ‘Oh my god, I have to sit through this movie for kids.’ No, it’s like, ‘I can enjoy this too.’ And you get to see Uma Thurman as Medusa which is awesome.”

Alexandra Daddario: “She’s amazing and terrifying.”
