I’ve added new event photos of Logan and director, Chris Columbus attending the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Japan Premiere on February 22, 2010.
I’ve added screen captures from Logan’s older film, ‘The Gamer’ movie to the gallery. Logan’s performance is fab!
Inside sources say that Percy Jackson star, Logan Lerman has been cast in the Sony reboot of the Spider-Man film series. Director Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) is set to helm the first film in what Iâm guessing will be another trilogy although that has not been confirmed at this time.
The story takes the characters back to high school in the New York City borough of Queens. No word yet on who has been cast as Peter Parkerâs love interest Mary Jane Watson formerly played by Kirsten Dunst or his best friend Harry Osborn previously played by Mr. James Franco.
Webb is in talks with Avatar director James Cameron to use his cameras and technique to film the entire movie in 3-D.
The official announcement will no doubt come shortly along with more details to follow.

Logan Lerman is the new kid on the block. And he may be standing on the threshold of becoming the new teen-sensation as he portrays the lead role of Percy Jackson in the adventure cum fantasy flick âPercy Jackson and The Lightning Thiefâ. And heâs excited, nervous and a tad apprehensive.
So, is he geared up for the fame that may kiss his forehead? And he takes us into his dreamland. âTo be honest with you, it is interesting. People are just going to scream âPercy Jacksonâ all the time. Itâs going to be crazy. But somehow I canât imagine people knowing who I am from any movie. So if that does happen, I will be very surprised,â PercyâŠ.oopsâŠ.I meanâŠ..Logan says. • Read full story »

Lifeâs about to get pretty interesting for 18-year-old Logan Lerman. If reports are to be believed, he may be the next Spider-Man. Add to that, the successful opening of his film Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief, which is touted to be the next Harry Potter.
In the film, directed by Chris Columbus (director of Home Alone and the first two Harry Potter films) and presented by Fox Star Sudios, Logan had the herculean task of carrying the lead role. The movie, also starring Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman, Catherine Keener and Steve Coogan, is an epic adventure of teen demigods which sees Percyâs character packed with enough visual firepower and youthful zeal necessary to launch a hit franchise.
Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief entered theatres last week in the US to a rousing success, with nearly $40 million weekend collections at the box office. It is releasing in India today.
Hereâs the teen heartthrobâs take on working on the magnum opus and his passion for acting.
How did you land this part?
Teenie boppers have been eagerly waiting for Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief. And so have all the Harry Potter fans. With good reason!
This film belongs to the same ‘magic’ genre. Also it’s been directed by the master storyteller Chris Columbus, the ‘wizard’ who gave us Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
In the interim apart from the Potter series we’ve had The Chronicles of Narnia, The Spiderwick Chronicles and The Golden Compass. It really is a tall order to churn out something refreshingly different. But does the film engage you and keep you at the edge of your seat? Yes! And it is the director’s mastery that he does not let his audience down. • Read full story »
ReadKiddoRead.com talks to the star of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Logan Lerman.
BlackBook.com: An Interview with Logan Lerman
For an eighteen year-old actor, Logan Lerman already has quite an impressive body of work. From the critically acclaimed television series Jack & Bobby to indie films like My One and Only and action movies like 3:10 to Yuma, Lermanâs been hitting Hollywood on all fronts. You can now add âepicâ to his list of credits. In his newest film, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightening Thief, Lerman plays the title character who is the prime suspect in the disappearance of Zeusâ lightning bolt. Percy embarks on a journey to save his mom and catch the real thief.
The movie, directed by Harry Potter helmer Chris Columbus, has an all-star cast that includes Uma Thurman, Pierce Brosnan and Catherine Keener who plays Percyâs mother. Even though the movie is based on the best-selling teen book series of the same name, Lerman assures us that this is a film for all ages. âThis movie relates to people in general,â he says. âItâs about the life struggle of taking your weaknesses and trying to make them into your strengths.”

Already a hit in its opening weekend in theaters (raking in $39 million), Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief has been compared to the Harry Potter series and its star, 18-year-old Logan Lerman, has been hailed as the next Daniel Radcliffe. What else does the fantasy film share in common with Harry Potter? More than you might think!
1. The story is a mythological adventure to rival Harry Potter. The premise: American teenager (Lerman) discovers that heâs the demi-god son of Poseidon and a mortal (Catherine Keener), is accused by Zeus of stealing his lightning bolt. Just like Harry, Percy’s part of a teen trio that includes pals Grover (Brandon T. Jackson) and Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario). Look out Harry, Hermione and Ron!
2. Director Chris Columbus knows his way around a fantastical tale: He already helmed two Potter pics, 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcererâs Stone and 2002’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. • Read full story »
